THE MOST INTERESTING POINT
The most interesting fact is there that there is no late journalist in Nasarpur
journalistic era. All people who worked in past, still they are serving.
STORY OF PRESS CLUB
It was 1982 when Press Club of Nasarpur started working, with the struggle of
Faqeer Ismail Bhanoon, who was work9ing in “Aftab”newspaper as a composer. He
was the first president of Press Club Nasarpur who was elected by other
journalists.
In the initial period Media was not such powerful. There was a little number of
newspapers like some one said that there were come only 80 copies of “Aftab” on
daily bases. Means people had less awareness about journalism. In that period
“Faqeer Ismail Bhanoon” brought awareness and after him “Kabeer Shad
Abbasi”(Jang) and “Gul Daudpota”(Sindh News,Pegham-e-Sindh) worked in
journalism.
There was a little number of journalists and journalist had great importance
like a high profile job. If journalist was giving news for publishing which was
about a high class person then that feudal etc used to come to journalist
family etc for complain.
The “Sajjada Nasheen”of Syed Family “ Sayyed Mureed Ali Sha Rizwi” helped Press
Club. In fair of “Misri Shah” when “Director General Information Durr Myhammad
Kamal” came at visit, he took special interest in forming Press Club. When
“Syyed Mureed Ali Shah” was M.P.A, he gave 10,000Rs: as Fund to the Club. In
that period Press Club was holding elections, which was beign helb on “Cots”,
due to not having an office for Press Club. “Saleem Gul Abro” was the President
of Club and he had personal contact with “Mureed Ali Shah”. “Raees Allah Bakhsh
Magsi after that also gave Rs 10,000: as help to Club.
In the period of Syed Abid Hussain Rizwi who was a chairman, journalists
succeed to get an office for Club. “Ashraf Sammoo” as “General Secretary” was
used to be in contact with high management. “Muhammad Khan Khadim Ghirano” also
helped him for those concerns. “Khadim” has a good profile in the world of
journalism and also literature in Nasarpur. He was also “General Secretary” of
Club.
After him, “Sahir Aijaz Abro” remained President of Club seven times. After
that “Gul Daudpota” three times served as President. Fayyaz Abro also remained
president of Press Club five times. From his family, his cousins “Tariq
Abro”and “Farooq Abro” also worked as journalist. In that period “Ahsan
Danish”(Ibrat) and “Muhammad Bachal Qureshi”(Hilal Pakistan) played a good role in
Nasarpur Journalism. We will share here an interesting thing that “Bachal
Qureshi” gave a news to “Hilal Pakistan”
and it published a cartoon on that news. That took great popularity in town.
Still Press Club held elections. The due date of every year for the election is
31st of Dedcember. In the recent era Sahir Aijaz Abro,
Muhammad Alam Kakepota, Ashraf Sammoo, Kabeer Shad Abbasi, Shakil Siddiqui,
Faiz Muhammad Memon, R.B.Memon, and Gul Daudpota are working for the betterment
of Nasarpur journalism.
ACHIEMENTS AND STRUGGLE
Many journalist/reporters got “Misri Shah” awards and certificates. In initial
period of journalism in Nasarpur journalist worked to arise many hot issuses of
Nasarpur , even Murder cases in which Feudals and “Dakoo” were the opposing
parties.
With the help of”Ismail Bhanoo” “Gul Daudpota”after taking permission from
“Syed Mureed Ali Shah” Dail “Aftab” could publish Special Edition of “Aftab”
on”Misri Shah”. In newspaper”Mahran” “Khadim Ghirano” written periodical piece
named “Goongay Ja Gufta”. In that he arise many issues of Nasarpur on Sindh
level. We shared you above an interesting point that how “Hilal Pakistan”
took notice of a news of Nasarpur and even published cartoon on that.
Journalists took interest in social issues and worked for t hat also. Here they
remained interested in literature also. Well, the social issues which raised
with their struggle and the projects which started and completed successful
with their contribution, they were:
By_Pass Road of Nasarpur
Digital Telephone
High School Building
Girls College
Ceramic centre of Sindh Small
Industries
Wood Working Centre(of Sindh
Small Industries)
Hand made Carpet Centre(of
Sindh Small Industries)
Changing of Electricity
Wires and Pools
Different Transfarmers foir
different Wards (areas)of Nasarpur
Mir Zulifqar draw attention of Department of Health on the issue of “Cholera”
disease. Abdullah Daudpota raised many issues of town on Sindh Level.
Journalists even are not getting their deserved value in the city but still
they are working with their spirit, they have no any degree of journalism but they
are serving just with the ambition, with curiosity of searching information and
bring it for others, with the spirit of finding knowledge and make avail;ble to
others.
NEWSPAPERS IN NASARPUR
There is no local newspaper,
but here people are great fonder of reading newspapers. Mostly the newspapers
which have a good number of readers, here are:
Kawish
Koshish
Sindhu
Ibrat
Sobh
Khabaroon
Sham
Aas
Jang
Nawae Waqt
Riyasat
Jurrat
Express
Gate Way
Dawn,etc
CONCLUSION
Though the people of Nasarpur are highly influenced fron literature etc, and
many magazines on a little level, published here, but still there is a great
need to aware people for journalism, journalists, their importance and their
role.
